Patrol Service Officers respond to calls for service and conduct follow-up investigations, while enforcing federal and state laws, as well as municipal ordinances. Specialized assignments in our patrol division, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) and the Traffic Enforcement Unit give officers a variety of opportunities for personal development and career advancement.

Community Outreach programs provide officers with the opportunity to educate diverse cross sections of our community. Officers provide crime prevention and safety education for our residents through a Citizens Police Academy, Neighborhood Watch, and other interactive opportunities.

Criminal investigations offer experienced officers a different side of policing and the development of specialized skills used to resolve complex criminal acts. Involvement with a regional multi-agency narcotics task force and gang unit enhance the protection of our citizens and neighborhoods.

The City of Evans community is protected by a complement of 36 police officers who provide service 24-hours a day. Police Department offices are housed in the Evans Community Complex which is located at 1100 37th Street.
